Meet Lulu….with a treat!

Introducing Lulu, a sweet, curLulu.JPGious, and loving furry gal who is up for adoption through the Animal Hope Alliance. Lulu is currently residing in the Adoption Center at Petco (near Home Depot) in Christiansburg. Lulu is spayed, up-to-date on her vaccinations and has tested negative for feline leukemia and AIDs. Lulu is between 9 months and a year and a half old and has a beautiful Tortie Tabby coloring.

Lulu before being rescue

Though Lulu is a healthy and thriving cat now, her life didn’t start so glamorous. When Lulu was young she lived in harsh, unclean, and downright sad conditions along with at least 11 other cats. Though she had plenty of cat friends to socialize with, she wasn’t well cared for. When the Animal Hope Alliance rescued Lulu and her family she was covered in fleas, had worms, was underfed and poorly groomed. Thankfully Lulu’s conditions were quickly treated and she was brought back to health.

Why should you adopt Lulu might you ask? First off, just look at those eyes! If they don’t scream “take me home and love me forever and I’ll love you forever”, then I don’t know what does. But on a serious note, Lulu has had a hard first year of her little life. Still she is full of love, cuddles, and hopes of making YOU the happiest cat parent around.

Now it’s time for a treat! A little about the Animal Hope Alliance!

  1. Their mission: The Animal Hope Alliance strives to provide humane, responsible, and loving care for lost, abandoned, unwanted, neglected, ill, injured or abused companion animals. They are a safe place for animals to land after a life of struggles. The Animal Hope Alliance works with a low-cost clinic to bring animals to health and they make it their mission to find these animals a perfect fur-ever home.
  2. How is it run? The Animal Hope Alliance is a non-profit organization that received this status in 2008. The organization is run by a group of amazing volunteers and a board of directors of seven members.
  3. Shelter or Foster? The Animal Hope Alliance does not operate a shelter to house their animals but they work with foster homes to house the animals until their fur-ever home comes along.
  4. How can you help? To run the Animal Hope Alliance it takes a community! They are looking for anyone who can raise awareness, volunteer for rescue efforts, become a foster home, and provide or pay for veterinary services, spaying/neutering, or better yet adopt a pet. They are also always in need of transportation for animals, outdoor care, foster homes, baking and attending the semi-annual bake sales and yard sales. Any bit of help is greatly appreciated, and if you are looking for an animal organization to support, I strongly urge you to consider this amazing group.
